Salt – a product, the body needs


Salt – chemical element sodium chloride, mineral, and food indispensable. Salt is mined in mines or by evaporation of salt water. History of salt in food and food culture dates back to the dawn of mankind.

In ancient times, salt was appreciated literally worth its weight in gold, because it conducted the war. Today, when it became known that the Earth has an almost inexhaustible supply of sodium chloride, its market price has fallen sharply – the salt has become the cheapest food seasoning. This, however, does not mean that people have less value it. In addition, the salt enhances the flavor of food quality, it also has a number of useful properties for the human body.

Lack salts in the body can cause the development of anxiety, insomnia, and even depression. In the salt contains the elements necessary for normal operation of the human organism, especially the brain. With a shortage of these elements the brain throughout the body starts to send alarms.

Salt and the brain in general is very closely linked: salt is necessary for the smooth functioning of brain neurons and transfer information between them. These processes occur continuously throughout a person’s life, so in this case is difficult to overestimate the importance of salt. Lack of salt can lead to serious incurable disease – Alzheimer’s disease.

Of course, all good is good in moderation. They say salt – white death, and this is partly true. A lethal dose of salt for an adult with normal body weight is 200-300 grams. Daily as the need for salt – only 10-15 grams, and this is the dose at which the “work” of its useful features. Abuse of salt leads to the development of heart disease, liver, thyroid, kidneys, joints, and bones. Therefore, the main advice in the preparation of food can be only one: do not overdo!
